On the eve of mid season we ask our token Northerner about his take on RL in the South

Robbie Dolan moved to Bedford a couple of years ago and while he was dragged kicking and screaming from the mud puddle pitches of the north he soon found a club close to home to get his fix of running back and forward 10 meters for 80 minutes.

So Robbie how does RL down here compare with that played up north?

"Well its pretty much saaame mate. I get sweaty with 12 other men then jump in t' shower after"

So there's no differences at all?

"We didn't tend to 'av fencing round pitch up in Yoooorkshire... Dry stone wall did job perfect"

Ok, and what about the competition?

"There's a few good clubs round here. And they aaaaall 'av their characters. But nothin beats a bitter rivalry like ones back 'ome.
